As the Election 2008 season heats up, the Fallbrook Democratic Club is honored to host a special forum on Thursday, May 1st. This will be an exciting opportunity to meet and question Robert Hamilton, candidate for the U.S. 49th Congressional District, and Grey Frandsen, of Temecula, the leading candidate for the California State Assembly seat for District 66.
Hamilton, an independent Democrat and Fallbrook resident, is seeking to replace incumbent Darrell Issa (R-Vista). Bob has decades of executive experience in the financial services sector during his years with American Express and the Bank of America, and has been recognized for maintaining a broad view of complex financial issues and for exercising sound business judgment. Born in Kankakee, IL on the 4th of July, he grew up in Havana, Cuba, escaping with his parents after Castro assumed power, with only $5 in their pockets. He is bilingual, fluent in Spanish, has lived in Cuba, Venezuela, Brazil, and Spain and is a Navy Vietnam War veteran. He is a member of the County and the State Central Democratic Committees, as well as the Executive Board of the State Democratic Party. He is past president of the Fallbrook Democratic Club.
Grey Frandsen, a young and committed Democrat, has an impressive record of public service. He served as U.S. Senator Russell Feingold’s chief foreign policy advisor, as well as assisting both Secretaries of State Colin Powell and Condoleezza Rice as their Special Assistant/Chief of Staff of the U.S. Department of State’s Office of Reconstruction and Stabilization. He has lectured on national security-related issues at The George Washington University, American University, the National Defense University, the Air War College and the National War College. Grey graduated magna cum laude from UCLA and obtained his graduate degree in foreign policy at Johns Hopkins University. He is a business owner in Riverside and a member of the Riverside Chamber of Commerce.
The meeting will be held Thursday, May 1st, 2008, at 7:00 PM, in the Fallbrook Public Utilities District (FPUD) board room, 990 East Mission Road.
