“Needless to say, Laura Mae and I are really pleased that Bob has made the decision to enter public life as a candidate for California’ 49th Congressional District.

Having known Bob for lo these many years, both personally and as an outstanding naval officer while I was Commanding Officer of a destroyer in the Vietnam era, I feel certain that the people of the 49th District would be eminently well served by him as their representative in Congress. His maturity, honesty and sense of fairness for those with whom he came into contact both in and out of the Navy are the qualities which will make him a true asset in a Congress which cries for a more bi-partisan approach in dealing with our Nation’s many issues, domestic and foreign.
